1. Stop the OpManager server and make sure the following processes are not running. Apache.exe, Java.exe and Mysqld-nt.exe 2. Select Start --> Programs --> ManageEngine OpManager --> DB Manager --> DB Configuration. 3. A DB Configuration window pops up. Select MSSQL option. 4. Configure the following information: DB Host : The name or the IP address of the machine where MSSQL is installed. Port: The port number in which OpManager must connect with the database. Default is 1433. User Name and Password: The user name and password with whichOpManager needs to connect to the database. It would be better if youcould provide the "sa" user name and password. As OpManager usesmetadata, to create the tables.
These steps will automatically create the database in the Ms-SQL.However the table will be created only after successful start ofOpManager. So Start the OpManager.
If you have already using MYSQL and want to move to MSSQL without loosing data, do the following step before converting to MS-SQL
1. Stop OpManager and Backup the existing database by running the script OpManager\\bin\\backup\\BackupDB.bat 2. This will create a new folder under OpManager Home directory called "Backup" and the file will be kept under that folder. 3. The backup file will have a naming convention of "BackUp_MonthDate_year_time.data" eg. "BackUp_SEP18_2006_23_25.data" 4. Perform the database converting steps asabove. Start the OpManager will MS-SQL as the back end and shut itdown, after a successful startup. 5. Run the script \\OpManager\\bin\\backup\\RestoreDB.bat, note this filetakes the file name as argument. So you have run this command from thecommand prompt like the example below
Note: This is applicable for 6010 build and above. If you are using the build 6005 or earlier. Refer to the following article http://support.opmanager.com/sd/AddSolution.sd?solID=6608
